I am so happy to say that today is National Macadamia Nut Day! Since we live in Hawaii, we are fortunate enough to see (and hopefully eat) these more often than most.
In honor of this wonderful day, we are sharing a Honey Roasted Macadamia Nut recipe from Rebecca Lee Creative that has already been taste tested, and approved!
Ingredients
- Honey (about 1/2 cup per pound of Mac Nuts)
- Macadamia Nuts
- Sugar + salt (to taste)
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Put the honey in a saucepan to heat, or you can gently heat in the microwave, but be careful it will be hot! Add your macadamia nuts to the honey and mix to thoroughly coat. Add sugar and a little bit of salt to the macadamia nuts and mix until all mac nuts are coated with the sugar/salt mixture. Evenly spread the mac nuts on a tray and separate them. Roast in the oven for about 20 minutes, turning regularly. After they are cooled and hardened, store in an airtight container. Enjoy!
If you get a chance to try this recipe, let us know how you like it!
