In a world where cards are as ubiquitous as cash, there are a number of good reasons to use a credit card. Using your card will help you build credit, offers better protection than cash or a debit card and allows you to earn rewards for cash back, merchandise, gift cards, travel and more. With the HFS Visa Platinum® and Signature® Credit Cards, transactions are available through Online Banking and the Mobile App, where you can view account balances, check available credit, view transactions, pay your bill, access other card controls and more.

At HFS Federal Credit Union, we take fraud seriously. That’s why with your HFS Visa Platinum® and Visa Signature® Credit Cards you’ll get fraud alerts when a transaction seems suspicious. Fraud alerts will be sent to you through text message, phone call and email so we reach you in a way that’s quick and convenient for you.
If you ever receive a fraud alert for your credit card, but you are unsure of its legitimacy feel free to call the Credit Union directly at (808) 930-1400 or toll-free at (800) 216-2666 for assistance. You can expect to see the numbers below if you are ever contacted by text message or phone call.

Please remember that even with fraud alerts, we will never ask you for sensitive information such as your card number, account number, social security number, online banking login information, etc. If you are being asked for any sensitive information, do not respond and call us directly. Even if the phone number on the caller ID seems correct, scammers can imitate that using something called call spoofing. I found a small amount on my credit card going to an unknown company that I hadn't noticed had been automatically being paid for 7 months. I called the company but they "didn't know" how'd I'd gotten signed up for their service. So I went to the HFS FCU Visa website to dispute the charges. After not being contacted by an HFS FCU agent after almost a month of waiting, I called the number on the credit card web page. That went to the Hilo HFS FCU office who proceeded to tell me that they don't handle credit card disputes and that I needed to call the help number on the back of the card. When I spoke to the HFS FCU credit card agent, they told me they never look at the credit card web site or the disputes entered because they don't control the web site and that I should have called their number instead. The agent claimed that they were made aware of my disputes and that I should have received a form in the mail to write out my dispute. Since I hadn't received this supposed form that had been mailed, she would send me a new form, which would be mailed in 3 weeks. Why is there such obvious disconnect between the credit union and the credit card office? Why have a web site with services and phone numbers that don't work? Why would it take 3 weeks for me to get a form to dispute wrongful transactions. In this day and age, it should be a matter of days for something like this to get fixed. Very frustrated and vert disappointed with HFS FCU!

Thank you for making us aware of this situation. Since VISA is our card processor, they are the ones who handle any disputes. Unfortunately, we have heard some reports of response times being delayed in the past few months and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
The HFS Visa is an awesome card. The application was kind of a bummer because I couldn't fill out the dates(birthdate, address and employment dates) on the application unless I was on a PC. Not even my laptop could get the date thing to work. Besides it being slightly difficult to fill out it was super fast and easy to do. Also paying from your account on Online Banking is super convenient as is requesting for a credit limit increase.
I've had my HFS Visa for almost 15 years now and I am happy I applied all those years ago. With low rates that make payments manageable on a mediocre income and an understanding staff, it's incredible. My husband and I were able to keep a rock steady credit score during and after our home foreclosure in 2010 simply because we were able to make the affordable payments on this NO APR Visa. Thank you HFS for keeping us afloat just with this card and the wonderful supporting staff!
Hi! We’re glad that you love your HFS Rewards Visa® Credit Card! Our card was designed with our members in mind: a low variable rate, rewards program, no annual fee, and EMV chip technology.
The card works well enough, but we can't manage our account online anymore--set up autopay, check our balance, see our transactions. Hopefully we get this feature soon--or even better --mobile credit card management (we need an app for that)

Once logged in to Online Banking, simply click on “Visa Credit Card” to direct you to HFS Credit Card Online Account Management. From there you may view your account balance, check available credit, view monthly statements and transactions, make payments and more! Rates are good, customer service is good. You only get one card, even if the spouse/partners name is on the statement. No more scorecard reward points after July 2015

In regards to the ScoreCard® Rewards Points, unfortunately these will be discontinued on June 30, 2015 and points must be redeemed by August 31, 2015. Please stay tuned to our member communications as we have exciting new benefits for your card to be announced in early September.
I love my low interest Visa card EZ to use excepted every were I been every in Alaska .

For those who carry credit card debt, this may be a good choice, but when ads leave out important details and offer no simple way to learn, then I vote "poor".

To access your card controls on a computer, log into HFS Online Banking, select Services and View Credit Card. If you have already enrolled in the HFS Cards App, it will ask you to verify your account. If you have not already enrolled, you will need to enroll using your credit card number and create a user ID and password. This should be different than your Online Banking login.
