This year, HFS Federal Credit Union’s Annual Fundraiser takes on even greater meaning. As our community continues to recover from recent severe weather and navigate growing needs, we’re proud to support two incredible organizations that continue to be there for our island. All proceeds from this year’s fundraiser will benefit Vibrant Hawaiʻi and The Food Basket.
Every donation will help to provide essential resources, support recovery efforts, and strengthen Hawaiʻi Island communities when needed the most.
Supporting Recovery Through Vibrant Hawaiʻi
Vibrant Hawaiʻi is a community-driven nonprofit organization based in Hilo, dedicated to building local resilience, equity, and self-reliance. Through disaster response, economic opportunities, and social programs, the organization helps strengthen island communities and their ability to recover, rebuild, and thrive.
Following Tropical Storm Lala, Vibrant Hawaiʻi has been supporting response and recovery efforts across Hawaiʻi Island, connecting impacted families and communities with resources as they begin to recover and rebuild.
Your support will give Vibrant Hawaiʻi the flexibility to keep responding to the evolving needs of our island and its communities.
Fighting Hunger With The Food Basket
The Food Basket serves as the federally designated food bank for Hawaiʻi County, working to make the island a model for food security and sustainability. As a trusted leader in food distribution, The Food Basket helps ensure safe, reliable, and high-quality food reaches those in need across Hawaiʻi Island. Through the statewide DA BUX program, they also help increase access to fresh, local produce for SNAP recipients while supporting local farmers.
In the aftermath of Tropical Storm Lala, their dedicated teams and community partners have stepped up to meet even greater needs, delivering essential food, water, and emergency provisions to communities from North Kohala to Kaʻū.
By supporting The Food Basket, our fundraiser will help ensure they have the resources to keep serving our community, both during emergencies and throughout the year.

From October 1 through 31, we will be accepting monetary donations at all HFS Federal Credit Union branches, inviting our members and community to come together in support of Vibrant Hawaiʻi and The Food Basket.
