“Building Financial Health for a Brighter Tomorrow”

We celebrate International Credit Union (ICU) Day each year on the third Thursday in October. It is a day dedicated to raising awareness about what it means to have a credit union as your trusted financial partner. This year’s theme “Building Financial Health for a Brighter Tomorrow” highlights the way that credit unions contribute to a brighter future by working to improve members’ financial well-being. It is the essence of what credit unions have been doing all around the world for over 100 years.

Here at HFS, we’ve decided that instead of just one day, we want to celebrate all month long! Here are the different ways you can celebrate with us:

  • Open a new account– When you open a new account, you’ll receive a complimentary gift!*
  • Keiki, save and be rewarded – When your keiki uses our coin machine, they’ll receive a complimentary gift!* (Available for ages 17 and under. Coin machines available in Hilo, Keaau, Honokaa, Waimea and Kona branches)
  • 2022 Pocket Calendar – Starting on October 21st, visit any branch to receive your 2022 Annual Pocket Calendar* featuring photography by Tracey Niimi of TN Photography.
