Now in it's tenth consecutive year of partnering with HOPE Services Hawai‘i and Camp Agape Big Island, the Hawai‘i County Police Department participates in a backpack drive for all children who cannot afford to buy them.
HFS has been a proud supporter of this backpack drive for many years, and this year is no different! This year we partnered with CO-OP Financial and Yoobi for the backpack drive. We were able to pack 100 backpacks with school supplies for our island’s keiki!
Each child that receives one will get a backpack, pencil case, binder, tab dividers, a pocket folder, No.2 Pencils, a pencil sharpener, eraser, colored pencils, markers, a highlighter, glue stick and a ruler. All things they will need for their school year!
Backpacks have actually been identified as the most requested non-food item for charities in Hawai‘i. The donated backpacks and supplies will be distributed to children in women’s shelters, homeless shelters and transitional housing facilities across the Big Island.
Mahalo CO-OP Financial, Yoobi, and the Hawai‘i County Police Department for taking part in helping our keiki!
