Celebrate HFS Youth Month This August!

August is Youth Month at HFS Federal Credit Union, and we’re inviting keiki and their ‘ohana to get “Stoked on Saving!” Throughout the month, HFS will be promoting financial literacy, encouraging healthy savings habits, and rewarding young savers with exciting opportunities to grow their money and have fun along the way.

Learning to save at an early age helps build lifelong financial confidence. HFS Youth Month is designed to help children and teens understand the value of saving while introducing families to the benefits of the HFS Kids Club. The campaign also supports HFS’s commitment to growing alongside our members by providing tools and personalized support at every stage of life.

Open a New HFS Kids Club Account and Receive $50¹

From August 1–31, 2026,  open a new HFS Kids Club Regular Share Account for a keiki aged 17 or younger and receive a $50 deposit from HFS. The deposit includes the required $5 minimum opening balance, making it easier than ever to start a savings journey.

Key details:

• Available to keiki ages 17 and under.
• The child must be the primary member on the account.
• Applies only to HFS Kids Club Regular Share Accounts.
• HUTMA and Representative Payee Accounts are not eligible.
• Limit one $50 deposit per member.

Already Have a Kids Club Account?

Existing HFS Kids Club members can join the fun, too!  During August, keiki ages 17 and under who make a minimum $20 deposit into their Regular Share Account will receive a Chip the Supersaver custom plush², while supplies last. Limit one plush per member.

Enter the Youth Month Sweepstakes

Youth Month participants can complete an Activity Sheet for a chance to win a $50 cash prize³.  Activity Sheets are available at all HFS branches and online. A parent or legal guardian must complete the submission information before returning the entry.

Keiki ages 0–10 complete the Color & Search Activity Sheet for a chance to win. One winner will be selected from each HFS branch location.

Twelve winners total will be selected across all branch locations, with each winner receiving $50. Current HFS members will receive the prize as a cash deposit into their Kids Club account, while non-members will receive $50 cash.  See Official Rules for complete eligibility requirements.

How to Participate

1. Visit any HFS branch or download an Activity Sheet.
2. Open a new Kids Club Account or make a deposit into an existing account.
3. Complete and submit an Activity Sheet by August 31, 2026.
4. Encourage your keiki to build smart savings habits while having fun.

Whether your child is opening their very first savings account or already building their savings, HFS Youth Month is the perfect opportunity to encourage financial responsibility and celebrate the power of saving. Stop by any HFS branch between August 1 and August 31, 2026, and get “Stoked on Saving!

¹APY= Annual Percentage Yield. APY for a regular shares HFS Kids Club account is 0.15% as of August 1, 2026, and is subject to change. Fees may reduce earnings. HFS FCU will deposit $50 into all regular share Kids Club Accounts open from August 1, 2026, to August 31, 2026. The $50 deposit, which will be provided at account opening, includes the $5 minimum balance required to open the account. The primary member on the account must be a minor, age 17 or under. Not applicable for HUTMA or Representative Payee accounts. The deposit is considered a bonus by the Internal Revenue Service and will be reported as taxable income (1099-INT). Limit one bonus per member.
