Getting a good start to your day can make all the difference in how the rest of your day turns out. There are some things you can do to help get you out the door in the morning well prepared and pumped to start a new day!

  1. Plan Ahead – Do you take home lunch to work, or maybe you have kids and need to get them packed for school every morning? Start the night before! Pack your lunch (and anyone else’s) ahead of time and get it ready for you to just “grab and go”. You can also pack your child’s school bag and even your work bag and have it ready next to the door. To take it one step further, go ahead and lay out your clothes the night before so there’s no time wasted choosing an outfit. All of these preparations will make for a stress free morning!
  2. Fuel Up – and no I don’t mean putting gas in your car (though you should if you need to). Fuel your body! We’re always told that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, it helps boost your energy level and mood. Eating breakfast  can help you focus better, gets your metabolism going, and may even keep you from overeating later on in your day. Even if you’re in a rush, have some easy breakfast options that you can grab on your way out the door.
  3. Take Advantage of Your Time – Do you have a long drive to work? Make use of that time! If you’re driving, go ahead and make a playlist to help you get pumped up for your day! If you carpool, use your time to plan your day, take a look at your schedule, and prioritize how you will complete your tasks throughout the day.
  4. Release Some Endorphins – If you can get yourself up a little earlier each morning, fit in a short workout routine! It doesn’t need to be anything too strenuous, and could just be a short morning jog. Get your blood pumping and release those endorphins to raise your mood first thing in the morning. By the time you start your work day you’ll feel like you’ve already accomplished a lot in the short amount of time you’ve been awake. Just don’t forget to follow tip #2 above, fueling your body will be especially important after a morning workout.

Try out one or two, or all, of the tips above and see if it works for you! Feel free to comment below with any other ideas you have to get you started off right each and every day!
