Today, May 15th, is National Chocolate Chip Day! It only seemed fitting to share a recipe for a classic, tried and true, sweet treat - chocolate chip cookies!
Now everyone has their own preference when it comes to cookies. Some like soft cookies and some like them crispy. Some people prefer cookies made from scratch and others like the box mix, or even the kind you buy already made.
Today we’re sharing a recipe tested and approved by one of our staff members. Here it is!
Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 1 cup butter
- 1 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
Cream butter and sugar. Add vanilla and eggs and mix well. Mix in the dry ingredients, then add:
- 6 cups Special K cereal
- 1 cup chopped nuts (whichever you prefer)
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Drop on greased cookie sheet and press down for crisper cookies. Bake at 350 degrees for about 15-17 minutes. Remove from cookie sheet immediately and cool.
If you’re in the mood to bake cookies, go ahead and try this recipe and let us know how you like it!
