We had a busy few months teaching financial presentations and reality workshops at our local high schools.
Waiakea High Sessions
Students at Waiakea High School complete a 5 part session over the course of 5 weeks from January to February. Seniors at Waiakea learned all about budgeting, saving, credit, taxes and even investments.
Kamehameha Reality Fairs & Career Day
In the months of January and February, HFS hosted a three part Reality Fair for the Kamehameha High School Seniors. The program allowed students to gain hands-on experience of what it’s like in the real world by allowing them to make their own financial decisions and realizing the rewards of consequences of those activities.
We’d also like to thank Kamehameha Schools Hawai’i High School for once again inviting us to be a part of your Career Day. On November 11, 2017 the Marketing Department met with the KSH Senior class to teach them all about responsible money management and things to consider as the plan for college. This included writing checks, balancing a register, eServices to utilize, credit, taxes, and more! When the students get their first job, these are all skills that they will need to effectively manage their income and bills. Not only was it a very informative sessions for the students, but it was also preparing them for a Reality Fair of their own in January and February.
St. Joseph Reality Fair
The St. Joseph Jr/Sr High School learned all about financial education when HFS hosted a Reality Fair at their school on February 9th. Students learned how to manage their money while making choices about what kind of lifestyle they would live, and how much it would cost.
