HFS Kids Club Youth Savings Account
Studies show that the earlier you establish good financial habits, the better your long-term financial security and independence will be. Early financial literacy can empower children to make informed decisions and avoid common pitfalls that can derail their long-term plans.
At HFS FCU, we offer a Kids Club youth savings account to help children develop these financial skills, while encouraging growth and education. All it takes is a $5 opening deposit, and the help of an adult, to get started.
Why Choose HFS Kids Club for Your Child?
HFS FCUās Kids Club youth savings account is designed to encourage children to save and manage their money effectively. Unlike a traditional savings account, this account offers incentives for opening and using it. When you open the account and make an initial deposit, your child receives a gift. To further support savings, we provide convenient opportunities for additional deposits with Deposit Days occurring twice a month at select elementary schools on the island. Additionally, competitive dividend rates apply to the entire balance of the youth savings account, until your child turns 18, helping to cultivate positive saving habits.

One of the benefits of the Kids Club youth savings account is its minimal barrier to entry. All it takes is a $5 opening deposit to get started, which is significantly lower than the typical opening deposit for a regular savings account. There is also no minimum balance requirement for earning dividends, and your child can earn dividends on the entire balance until they turn 18.
Incentives are designed to keep your child engaged in saving while helping to teach and build healthy financial habits. In addition to the gift your child receives upon opening their account, they can also earn a toy each time they make a deposit at an HFS FCU branch. These rewards help children develop a positive association with saving and encourage the development of confidence.
HFS FCU's commitment to the community and educating children on financial literacy goes far beyond offering youth savings accounts. Our Deposit Day Program brings the credit union to participating elementary schools to further develop their savings habits, money-counting skills, and confidence at a young age. We also offer age-appropriate financial education resources for all of our members, like Zogo for youth 13 and up.
