In case you missed it, at HFS and credit unions all over the nation, the end of April signaled the end of Youth Month.
What is Youth Month?
Youth Month is a fantastic opportunity for us to focus on our Big Island keiki. We are here with the tools to help teach your keiki about smart and healthy money habits. From our HFS Kids Club to the recently unveiled Banzai Financial Education game, we are committed to our youth. As mentioned earlier, Youth Month is an initiative celebrated by credit unions nationwide and takes place each year in the month of April. It’s never too early or too late to start teaching the value of money and how to spend and save wisely.
Results
This year’s youth month savings results are so impressive, we just had to share. Throughout the month of April, our youth members saved a grand total of $423, 481. 32!! We’d like to extend a huge congratulations to all of our keiki for their outstanding savings habits!
We also offered a free Regal Cinemas Movie Ticket to all keiki who completed their age appropriate Banzai course in the month of April. Over 40 Big Island youth put their money skills to the test and completed their Banzai course! Each child tested their knowledge with a pre-test, went through the course, and finished off with a post-test to see just how much they learned. A total of 43 kids brought in their certificate and received their movie pass to enjoy a movie on us!
