Ok, so I know all of the cost information I shared in the last two posts sounded a little scary right? I totally understand, it’s a lot to think about and might be more cost than you were expecting, but it’s definitely something you want your lifestyle and your wallet to be prepared for. Now let’s discuss the positive side. Here’s everything that dog ownership brings to your life:

  • Unconditional Love – No matter how my day has gone, when I walk in the door at home my dogs are so excited to see me! Tails are wagging and they look at me like I’m their favorite person in the world. And they do that every day! Even the worst mood can be cheered up by that kind of greeting.
  • Companionship – Your dog will be your best friend and companion, even your shadow as you move around the house. There’s no words to describe that bond between you and your dog.
  • Stress Relief – It’s been shown that pets can have a very calming effect on a person. Whether they relieve your stress by getting you to take them outside and play with them or just by laying and relaxing with you, the stress can melt away.
  • Increased Physical Activity and Health – Your dog is going to need exercise, and lots of it! Which means you can get your exercise in at the same time. Take your dog for a walk or run around in the backyard with them. However you can get your dog to play will get you up and moving and better your physical health.

As you can see, a dog can be a fantastic companion that can bring so much joy into your life! Just make sure to prep for the costs associated with pet ownership so that joy is not outweighed by financial stress. If you have more to add to the list above, feel free to share in the comments below!
